Obama in Ramadan message: We will not allow divisions or limitations on religious freedoms

US President Barack Obama, in his Ramadan message, emphasized that the US must do more to help Muslims who have fled their homes due to violence and wars, and that we must resist those who seek divisions and limitations on religious and civil freedoms, writes Patria.

- Many Muslims are unable to welcome Ramadan in the comfort of their own homes, nor will they be able to share the joys of Eid with their children and loved ones. We must all continue to make efforts to alleviate the pain and suffering of these families – Obama said.

Emphasizing that the month of Ramadan reminds people of their individual and collective obligations and responsibilities to protect the dignity of every human being, Obama said that the US will continue to welcome immigrants, including the Muslim population.

- We must not forget the millions of people who have left their homes around the world due to conflict and persecution, and in our own backyard – Obama stated.
