A meeting was held at the White House between the newly elected US President Donald Trump and the still-current Barack Obama. Trump said he respects the president and that they discussed both wonderful and difficult topics, reports Patria.
Obama said they discussed foreign and domestic policy and that Trump showed interest in working together on the transition of power.
When asked if he had asked Obama for any advice, Trump replied that Obama is a "very wonderful man." He also revealed that their meeting was initially supposed to last ten minutes but was extended to an hour and a half, and that they still had more to discuss.
At the same time, the presidents' wives, Melania Trump and Michelle Obama, were also talking.
American media recall that Trump very often questioned Obama's origins, claiming that the first black US president was not born in the US at all.
Given that Trump does not take over the duties of the US President until January 20, he will be preparing for the position until then, holding constant consultations with White House and Oval Office staff.
