Up to 40 people are feared to have died in a fire that broke out in a club in the American city of Oakland on Friday night to Saturday, American media report, according to Patria.
The fire broke out shortly before midnight local time. Nine people have been confirmed dead so far, and dozens are feared trapped in the building after the fire broke out.
- We still have to search the entire building thoroughly, and that's why it's difficult to estimate the possible number of victims, said the head of the local fire department, Theresa Deloach-Reed.
