FBiH Government to Discuss 2016 Budget Today

The Government of the Federation of BiH will discuss today in Sarajevo the draft budgets of the FBiH for 2016 and the Law on Budget Execution.

Deputies in the FBiH Parliament previously adopted the FBiH Budget Draft for 2016, which amounts to 2,533,862,123 KM and is 7.9 percent higher compared to last year's budget.

After the Government, the FBiH Budget Proposal for the next year will be presented on December 17 before the delegates of the House of Peoples of the PFBiH, before it also reaches the House of Representatives.

A high-ranking employee in the Federal Parliament previously revealed to Patria that the ruling coalition partners SDA, HDZ BiH and SBB fear that the FBiH Budget Proposal for the next year could fall in the House of Peoples due to a narrow majority.
It is precisely for this reason that they started adopting the FBiH Budget Proposal for 2016 in reverse order: first the House of Peoples, then the House of Representatives.

The only one who can correct the situation is the Chairman of the House of Representatives of the PFBiH, Edin Mušić, if before December 17 he schedules an extraordinary session of the HR PFBiH at which the FBiH Budget Proposal for 2016 would also be considered.

About 1.1 billion of the FBiH Budget for 2016 will be spent on repaying the debt of the Federation of BiH, nearly a billion is needed for current expenses, while only a small portion of money will remain in the budget for development projects.

SDP and DF, as well as several smaller parties in the House of Representatives of the PFBiH, voted against this budget, warning that it cannot bring the necessary reforms in the FBiH. They demanded more money for development projects, NAP writes.
