(Patria) - There is a little more than 24 hours left until the start of the new 2024. If the photos from the streets of Sarajevo are anything to go by, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina is packed with domestic and foreign guests again this year.
The New Year's celebration will begin with a concert by the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra at the National Theatre at 7:30 PM, while a definite spectacle will follow in Titova Street, where the program "Sarajevo Story" begins at 9 PM, featuring performances by Laka, Bombaj Štampa, Zabranjeno Pušenje, and Crvena Jabuka.
The photos from the streets of the capital confirm that the New Year's atmosphere in Sarajevo is at its peak. In the afternoon, the popular Vučko, the mascot of the Winter Olympic Games held in Sarajevo in 1984, walked through Sarači, Ferhadija, and Titova streets. Accompanied by Mayor Benjamina Karić and the host of the "Sarajevo Story" program, Zenit Đozić Zeno, Vučko greeted hundreds of citizens and tourists, and the fact that he was an attraction on the streets of the capital is evidenced by the fact that he "walked" and took pictures from Vijećnica to the Cathedral for almost 2 hours.
According to data from the Tourist Board of KS and Booking.com, accommodation facilities in Sarajevo are full, and guests are arriving from all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and Europe.
The organizers of the New Year's program "Sarajevo Story" and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS once again appeal to citizens and guests to adhere to the rules regarding the changed traffic regime and to respect all conditions and rules that apply in Titova Street during the public New Year's Eve celebration on December 31st.
Entrances to Titova Street are open from 7:30 PM from the direction of Aria Centar, Kulovića Street, Dalmatinska, and Šenoina.
