Večernji list journalist: BiH Army LGBT party precursor to upcoming rally

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - A journalist from Večernji list, the edition for Bosnia and Herzegovina, tried to link war crimes from the nineties to the announced LGBT community rally in the capital of BiH, which has provoked a sharp reaction from social media users, ten days before the first pride parade in Sarajevo.

"BiH Army LGBT party precursor to upcoming rally," Zoran Krešić wrote on Twitter, along with a photo of a soldier holding the severed head of a man, NAP reports.

Krešić soon deleted the post, after which Index journalist Gordan Duhaček published a copy of Krešić's message, accusing the same journalist of serving HDZ BiH president Dragan Čović in the media.

The first pride parade is announced for September 8 in Sarajevo, which is expected to gather members of the LGBT community from Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

There has been a debate in the media for some time about whether Sarajevo is ready to accept LGBT people, while the discussion has been further актуализирована after SDA and NiP called for the withdrawal of the parade, noting that they advocate for the 'right to a free life' with the remark that the parade 'in a society like ours, which cherishes fundamental values, would nevertheless deepen the gap between people of different understandings'.

Media controlled by HDZ, as well as media of Milorad Dodik's SNSD, accuse Sarajevo of being under the influence of conservative Bosniaks, who are not ready to accept anyone outside of those circles.
