New clashes of "yellow vests" and police

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Several dozen "yellow vests" were arrested in France, after clashes with French police, who also used tear gas.

It was the eighteenth consecutive weekend in which demonstrators gathered against the French authorities. Demonstrators threw stones at the police in front of the Arc de Triomphe, damaged during the protests in December. Fires were also set under cars.

Police also used water cannons in the morning. Interior Minister Christophe Castaner said that violent individuals had infiltrated the demonstrators and ordered the police to "respond fiercely to their unacceptable attacks".

"Let's not be fooled: they are looking for violence and they are there to create chaos in Paris," Castaner tweeted.

The demonstrations, which began in December and were held every Saturday, have begun to subside, and citizen turnout is decreasing.
