(Patria) - A new earthquake of magnitude 5.1 was recorded near Naypyidaw, the capital of Myanmar, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 19 kilometers from the capital, at a depth of 10 kilometers, the EMSC said.
This country was hit yesterday by an earthquake of magnitude 7.7, and tremors were felt in Bangladesh, India, Laos, China and Thailand.
Media earlier reported that the death toll from the earthquake in Myanmar exceeded 1,000, and that more than 2,300 people were injured.
