New attack in Baghdad, more than 20 people killed

In a suicide attack in Baghdad last night, several people were killed. Media reports that at least 21 people were killed and more than 35 wounded. Responsibility for the attack was claimed by the terrorist group ISIL.

BH security expert Goran Kovačević previously said that claims of responsibility for attacks by terrorist organizations may not be accurate.

- It is easier to take credit for someone else's deed and gloat, than to organize such an activity yourself – Kovačević said. 

A truck carrying a bomb crashed after midnight into a busy restaurant in northern Baghdad, which has a predominantly Shia population.

Several weeks earlier, nearly 300 people were killed in Baghdad after a truck bomb crashed into a shopping center, Patria reports.
