BAGHDAD, (Patria) - Just a few hours after US President Donald Trump made a statement about developments related to Iran, two rockets were fired at the Green Zone in Baghdad, where the US Embassy is located.
Trump said he would impose further economic sanctions on Iran, but also called on the Iranian people for peace.
Iran's Revolutionary Guard announced earlier that it had launched dozens of ballistic missiles at two US military bases in Iraq early this morning, targeting the Ayn Al-Asad airbase in Anbar and a base in Erbil. The statement stated that this was an "operation of revenge" for last week's US airstrike in which Iranian General Soleimani was killed near Baghdad airport.
