New Chief of Staff of NATO Headquarters in Sarajevo Antal Bardos

Brigadier General Marti Bissell, Commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, attended the handover ceremony of the new Chief of Staff, Brigadier Antal Bárdos. On that occasion, Brigadier General Bissell said:

“This event is another confirmation of the continued commitment of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo to Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am sure that the new Chief of Staff will be successful in providing effective support for the execution of the mission of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo”.

The handover ceremony was held at Camp Butmir in the presence of NATO Headquarters staff, EUFOR, representatives of the Hungarian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the commander of Camp Butmir.

The handover of duties is rooted in military tradition, and its role is twofold: recognition is given to the outgoing Chief of Staff, and the new one officially takes over the duty at the ceremony.
