Commander of the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, Brigadier General Robert A. Huston of the U.S. Air Force, transferred the duties of Chief of Staff from the outgoing to the new Chief of Staff of the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, Brigadier Ferenc Konczol.
On this occasion, Brigadier General Huston stated that this is another confirmation of the continuous presence and mandate of the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo in BiH.
- I am confident that the new Chief of Staff will continue to successfully lead the staff support personnel to ensure the effective implementation of the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo mission - said Huston.
The handover ceremony was held at Camp Butmir in the presence of personnel from the NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, EUFOR, and the base commander.
The handover ceremony is deeply rooted in military tradition and serves a dual purpose by honoring the outgoing Chief of Staff and formalizing the transfer of authority to the new Chief of Staff.
