New Film by Avdo Huseinović: “Rape in War – Invisible Scars”

Director Avdo Huseinović and the president of the Association of Camp Detainees in BiH, Jasmin Mešković, will present tomorrow the film „Rape in War – Invisible Scars“, which speaks about women, men and children – raped in camps in Bosnia and Herzegovina during the war from 1992 to 1995, Patria reports.

No one knows the exact figures, but it is estimated that more than 20,000 women were raped in BiH during the war. The largest number in eastern Bosnia and Bosanska Krajina.

Many raped women did not report the abuse, fearing the reaction of the community in which they live.

Sabiha Husić, a psychotherapist and Islamic theologian from Zenica, who has been strongly fighting for the protection of women and children who survived rape during the war for almost 20 years, previously told NAP that the situation in the country has been changing in recent years. Women are increasingly starting to speak about the abuse they survived during the conflict. But men are also increasingly talking about rape.

The film „Rape in War – Invisible Scars“ will be presented at the Hotel Europa in Sarajevo, at 11 a.m.
