New Letter to the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office Regarding Valve Games and Gas Procurement

(Patria) - Citizens of Sarajevo Canton have been gradually left without heating since yesterday. As announced by KJKP Toplane, six large boiler rooms were shut down, and they announced that the shutdown would continue today due to limited gas supply and lack of reserves. Former BH-Gas director Almir Bečarević also spoke out, once again calling on the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office to react urgently. Meanwhile, an emergency meeting regarding the gas shortage problem, which forced Toplane-Sarajevo to switch to alternative fuels, will be held in the KS Government today. However, Toplane stated they do not have enough fuel oil because they had previously used alternatives on two occasions when gas reductions also occurred.

In an email sent to the Chief Prosecutor of KS, Sabina Sarajlija, he stated that Toplane Sarajevo were violently left without gas at minus 16 degrees, affecting 55,000 apartments with at least three household members, ultimately impacting 155,000 citizens.

“For months, I have been giving statements to the Federal Police Administration, and not only me, I have sent emails and letters to the Prosecutor's Office and predicted everything in detail. What was done – nothing. What was done regarding the bribery offer, what was done regarding the gas theft, what was done regarding the Zenica-Travnik gas pipeline, which has had no use permit for nine years, etc. Will the prosecutor's office finally understand the scale of the valve games and the gas procurement games? During the war in Zvornik, gas was forcibly shut off to Sarajevo citizens, and now from the center of Sarajevo,” he stated.

He asked whether “the Prosecutor's Office will finally understand that citizens are suffering, and that the prosecutor's office and FUP were informed about this and warned that this would happen.”

“Citizens are suffering not only from the closing of valves but also from polluted air (fuel oil and heating oil). Everything we hinted at has happened: higher gas prices, insufficient gas quantities, the arbitration in Zurich for 21.1 million dollars, and only someone still needs to die. Do you want that? Energoinvest says they can provide gas on the market, several times more expensive, so why not provide it from Gazprom at the same price, instead of several times more expensive from Serbia (the same resold Russian gas)?” Bečarević asked.

He emphasizes that Toplane Sarajevo “forcibly shut off natural gas” in the 21st century. He again points out that the problem of gas procurement is “the switch to the Turkish Stream without anyone's consent.”

“I have no intention, respected Prosecutor, of being pathetic, but what else needs to happen for you to issue orders for the police to start doing their job. I will be the first witness because I know exactly what happened, what they signed, and what will happen next because Energoinvest is lying,” he said.

He stated that “this is not the end” and that “the gas pipeline is half-empty.”

“I thought that the blindfold meant justice (all equal before the law), but here we have a blindfold because we don't want to see,” Bečarević concluded.
