New investments on the A1 motorway worth 12 million KM

Director of the Public Company Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ensad Karić and director of Holdina d.o.o. Sarajevo Ante Aralica signed two contracts today for the use of road land and the performance of ancillary activities on the A1 motorway for the rest areas PUO Lepenica and PUO Kravice, reports the Patria news agency.

On the sections Međugorje – Bijača and Sarajevo West – Tarčin, opened to traffic last year, ancillary service facilities (PUO) will be built to ensure full comfort for passengers, as is customary worldwide.

 - With these contracts, the Public Company Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is implementing the construction of facilities at rest areas with an investment value of 12 million KM. By building service facilities at rest areas, we want to provide drivers and passengers with safer and more comfortable driving, a pleasant break, and a safe continuation of the journey - stated Ensad Karić, director of the Public Company Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Mostar.

The Public Company Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is ceding the use of road land for the construction of ancillary service facilities and the performance of ancillary activities based on a public tender conducted in November last year for a period of 20 years.

At the two-sided rest areas Lepenica and Kravice, on both sides of the road, d.o.o. Sarajevo will build gas stations with a shop, café bar, and restaurant within 11 months. Services will be provided to users 24 hours a day.

 - We are very satisfied and confident that these four gas stations are just the beginning of the expansion of the INA network in Bosnia and Herzegovina and cooperation with the Public Company Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The investment of over 12 million KM will ensure the construction of facilities according to the highest European standards for facilities of similar purpose, where we will offer drivers a rich selection of products and a pleasant place to rest - said Ante Aralica, director of the company Holdina Sarajevo. 

The revenues from the fee for the use of road land will be invested by the Public Company Motorways of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the further construction of the motorway on Corridor Vc.
