Novalic with EBRD delegation: Opening space for more investments

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalic hosted a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) today, which included the Director for the Western Balkans Zsuzsanna Hargitai, the former Director of the EBRD in Bosnia and Herzegovina Ian Brown, the newly appointed Director of the EBRD in Bosnia and Herzegovina Manuela Naessl, and senior banker Josip Polić.

Prime Minister Novalic thanked Ian Brown, who has held this position for the past five years, for the successful cooperation so far, and welcomed the new director Manuela Naessl, wishing her good future work. The meeting discussed past projects carried out in cooperation with the EBRD and plans for future cooperation.

"Although we receive financial support from the EBRD, we also count on your technical assistance. We will certainly open up more space for investments in the future," said Novalic, among other things.

The focus of activities in the coming period will be the continuation of the construction of Corridor Vc, the renovation of railway lines and the acceleration of rail traffic, projects to strengthen the private sector, renewable energy, and environmental protection.

Director Hargitai emphasized that, in addition to the EBRD's support for projects related to Corridor Vc, energy, and renewables, the EBRD is also willing to invest in the real sector, Željeznice FBiH (Railways of FBiH), as well as in public utilities infrastructure with the aim of providing better services to citizens.

The new head of the EBRD for Bosnia and Herzegovina takes office on October 1st.
