Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Fadil Novalić received a delegation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) led by First Vice President Philip Bennett today at the FBiH Government headquarters in Sarajevo. The delegation also included Director for Central and Southeastern Europe Sylvia Gansser-Potts, Director for the Western Balkans Holger Muent, and Head of the EBRD Office in Bosnia and Herzegovina Ian Brown.
The Federal Prime Minister emphasized that this international financial institution is a very important factor for the Federation of BiH due to its credit and technical assistance.
He particularly highlighted the fact that it has significantly participated in financing the construction of certain sections of Corridor Vc and in the reconstruction and construction of main roads.
- When I was coming from Banja Luka, we drove through some road sections financed by the EBRD, which I am very pleased with – said Bennett, announcing new credit arrangements worth 76 million euros during this year.
Expressing unconditional support for the Reform Agenda and the measures of the Federal Government leading to economic recovery, he stressed that what is written in its six chapters should be put into practice.
Part of the discussion concerned the plans of the Government of the Federation of BiH in the privatization of companies with state capital participation in this and the coming years. Vice President Bennett offered expert assistance from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in restructuring certain BiH companies, preparing them for privatization, and finding investors.
