Novalić: The goal is to preserve health and jobs, there are positive economic trends

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Fadil Novalić, sent a message on behalf of the FBiH Government and in his personal name on the occasion of May 1st - International Workers' Day, which states:

“We are facing another Labor Day, confronted with challenges caused by the coronavirus pandemic, but also with the hope that we will find a solution to these problems. Although a slight improvement is noticeable, we are aware that the epidemiological situation is still very serious. Therefore, it is important that we continue to adhere to the orders and recommendations of experts in order to preserve what is most important, our health and the health of others. It is our obligation to constantly do our best to help our fellow citizens preserve their health, but also their jobs.

Official data on positive economic trends in the Federation of BiH are encouraging and show that we should continue with support measures that have brought economic stabilization and had a positive effect on preserving jobs. Higher revenues from direct taxes, an increase in the number of employed persons, as well as an increase in industrial production and exports, are just some of the indicators that the measures of the Government of the Federation of BiH are yielding results. Of course, we will not stop there.

We are finalizing the support program, and we expect the implementation of measures from the new package, which include financial assistance to the economy and healthcare institutions, to begin soon.

The commitment of the FBiH Government is to return the economy to the level it was before the pandemic as soon as possible, and to create prerequisites for sustainable and accelerated economic growth in the coming years. The coronavirus pandemic has not yet passed, so we must all strive to preserve health, maintain existing jobs, and create conditions for opening new ones, so that citizens have the opportunity to work and live with dignity from their labor,” says the message from Prime Minister Novalić.
