NEW TRAGEDY IN SERBIA Eight dead, more than 10 wounded in shooting near Mladenovac, 600 police officers searching for attacker

(Patria) - Late Thursday evening, a new crime shook Serbia. Near Mladenovac, Uroš B. (21) after a quarrel in the schoolyard in the town of Dubona, went home to get a Kalashnikov and started shooting at fellow citizens.

As Kurir reports, after shooting at a certain number of people in Dubona, Uroš B. got into a car and started shooting at people in surrounding towns. According to witness statements, in the village of Malo Orašje he shot at a group of about 20 children.

According to statements from residents who spoke to Kurir, the first victim was a police officer who tried to stop Uroš B. from carrying out the attack, and allegedly he „first clashed“ with him. The father of the suspect in the attack near Mladenovac is a military officer, RTS reports. He also killed the police officer's sister, and a 14-year-old child also died.

Over 600 police officers launched a pursuit of the attacker who, reportedly, is surrounded in a village and does not want to surrender. Police have blocked the entrances to a village near Mladenovac and are searching house by house.

Serbian Minister of Police Bratislav Gašić characterized this attack as a „terrorist act“.
