New Poll Shows American Support for Harris and Trump Four Weeks Before Election

(Patria) - Four weeks before the US presidential election, Kamala Harris has taken a slight three-point lead over her opponent Donald Trump, according to a New York Times poll released on Tuesday.

The intention to vote for the Democratic candidate, the current Vice President, was expressed by 49 percent of respondents nationwide, compared to 46 percent committed to her rival - the Republican.

This 59-year-old candidate is breaking through among Republican voters, with nine percent supporting her, according to this survey conducted in collaboration with Siena College.

Harris is trying to rally some of this electorate, believing that some moderate Republicans do not want a new presidential term for the 78-year-old billionaire, known for his outbursts.

Last week, the Democrat organized a campaign rally together with former Republican representative Liz Cheney, whom Donald Trump has dismissed.

Harris also reiterated on Tuesday her intention to appoint someone from the Republican ranks to her cabinet if elected.

A New York Times poll released in mid-September showed the two White House candidates in a complete tie nationwide, with both receiving 47 percent at the time.

To conduct the poll released on Tuesday, the New York Times surveyed 3,385 voters across the country between September 29 and October 6. The margin of error is approximately 2.4 points.
