(Patria) - At least 15 people were shot in Chicago's Lawndale neighborhood early Sunday morning at a large Halloween party, local police announced, as reported by CNN.
Among the victims are six women and nine men aged 26 to 53, police reported. Two people remain in critical condition – a 26-year-old woman shot in the left hip and right buttock, and a 48-year-old man who sustained three gunshot wounds to his hips and thighs.
Chicago police responded to a report of a shooting shortly after 1 AM. Upon arrival, they found a man firing a weapon at party guests.
One witness recounted that the man was denied entry to the party as the DJ had just announced its conclusion.
