German investor interested in modernizing stadium at Koševsko

Representatives of the Centar Sarajevo Municipality, led by the municipal mayor's advisor for investments, Mustafa Resić, spoke with the president of the branch of the company “Dersa property consulting SL“ in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Shahrzad Vakilzadeh, about the modernization project of the Olympic Stadium “Asim Ferhatović Hase“ Koševo, Patria reports.

Advisor Resić emphasized that this project represents one of the main development priorities of Mayor Nedžad Ajnadžić, presenting a preliminary solution for the reconstruction of the stadium with accompanying business facilities, with an emphasis on modernizing the stadium according to the standards of world and European football federations, so that Sarajevo, as the capital of BiH, gets an attractive sports venue for the competition of domestic clubs and their participation in the international football scene as soon as possible. At the same time, this major investment, in which foreign partners would invest tens of millions of euros, would open significant jobs for domestic construction companies in the coming years.

The president of the branch of the company Dersa property consulting SL in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Shahrzad Vakilzadeh, pointed out that the reconstructed stadium should accommodate between 30 and 40 thousand spectators, built according to world standards such as: covered stands, greater comfort for spectators, a pitch closer to the audience, modern press boxes, a hotel next to the stadium, a business center, underground parking garages...

- Based on European experience regarding investments in sports infrastructure with accompanying business facilities, we are interested in a public-private partnership model in which the Municipality would invest the current stadium and the land at this location, and our company would provide financial resources for the construction of the stadium and other planned facilities. In doing so, the profit would be shared proportionally to the invested funds of both parties, Vakilzadeh emphasized.

It was concluded that the Centar Municipality will resolve the urban planning, legal, financial, and other aspects related to the realization of this largest sports project in our country before the next meeting, and that Dersa property consulting SL will provide the Municipality with a letter of intent in which it will further define its proposals regarding the realization of this major project.
