German authorities reject asylum request for parents of murdered Muhamed

The family of four-year-old Muhamed Januzaj from Sarajevo, who was killed by German national Silvio S., must leave Germany, as the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees rejected their asylum request because they come from a country of safe origin, reports the news agency Patria. 

The German media outlet “Bild” raises the question of whether they may, nevertheless, remain in Germany, where they have been for a year. As long as Muhamed's mother acts as a secondary plaintiff joining the state prosecutor's lawsuit against the killer, she could stay in Germany under so-called "duldung", i.e., tolerated stay in the country.

For the family of the murdered boy, the mother with two children, it is said that just before Muhamed's disappearance, their tolerated stay was extended until mid-December.

Killer lured the boy away by deception

Silvio S. (32) is charged with the murder of little Muhamed from Bosnia and Herzegovina and another German boy, Elias, and the media reports that both cases involve pedophilic murder.

Four-year-old Muhamed disappeared on October 1st in front of the registration centre for new refugees, where he was with his mother Aldijana Januzi (28), brother Kevin (five months), and sister Melina (9).

The mother, as the media reports, briefly lost sight of Muhamed and the boy disappeared.

The police launched a search, and the state prosecutor's office and two private individuals offered a reward of up to 20,000 euros a few days ago for anyone with information about the kidnapper of little Muhamed.

Discovered through review of camera footage

The police also released a video recording of the potential kidnapper, which came from a security camera placed near the Regional Institute for Social and Health Protection.

The video recording showed Silvio S. with a plastic bag in one hand, while holding Muhamed's hand with the other and leading him away to an unknown location.

Until his arrest, Silvio S. lived with his parents, to whom he confessed that he was the man from the police image.

Silvio S.'s father reported to a "Bild" reporter that he recognised his son in that photograph.

The body of little Muhamed was found in Silvio S.'s car and was, as German media report, covered with granules used for cat litter.
