German police raided practices and apartments: Forged COVID certificates discovered

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Police in Germany searched more than a hundred apartments and medical practices on suspicion of forging COVID passes.

"Police seized several COVID passes and mobile phones, and blood samples were taken from many suspects," police announced. As emphasized, the police action was not met with resistance from the suspects.

At the center of the investigation is a doctor in southern Germany suspected of issuing fake COVID certificates to people from all over the country. In some patients who wanted to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, the doctor simulated vaccination and then issued passes.

Almost two-thirds of citizens are obliged to be vaccinated

An investigation is underway against individuals who knowingly asked their doctors for vaccination without vaccination on suspicion of aiding in the forgery of official documents and violating the law on protection against infection. Police carried out searches in several federal states.

A debate is currently underway in Germany about the introduction of general vaccination obligation, which is advocated by the ruling social democratic-green-liberal coalition, as well as the Christian democratic opposition. Almost two-thirds, or 64 percent, of German citizens support this idea.

This was shown by a public opinion poll by the weekly Der Spiegel, conducted at the beginning of the week.
