NiP gets the most profitable companies and a larger part of the defense industry, Our Party gets the Lottery and culture, and SDP gets prisons!

(Patria) - Almost everything of value in the Federation of BiH (not counting HDZ) went to Narod i Pravda, reported Istraga.ba.

Although the list of federal companies and agencies that went to SDP BiH is longer, it essentially means nothing. The Social Democratic Party of BiH, as the largest party in the coalition, which won more votes than NiP and Our Party combined, ended up – the worst off in the distribution of director positions.

“Extra Category”

As we have already reported, Narod i Pravda received the most profitable company in the Federation – BH Telecom. This company, for example, reported a profit of 50.6 million KM last year. SDP BiH, as the largest party in power, received Elektroprivreda BiH, which achieved a profit of 6.15 million KM in 2022. And this was during a period when electricity prices were at a historical high. However, electricity prices are falling, which means revenues in Elektroprivreda BiH will decrease, potentially causing new problems in the mines operating within the concern. From the “extra class,” SDP also received BH Pošta with a profit of 3.7 million marks last year. Our Party received Željeznice Federacije BiH, which ended the 2022 business year with a profit of 1.6 million.

Category A

In this distribution as well, NiP came out on top. They received Sarajevo Airport, the profit of GINEX Goražde, the Federal Civil Protection Administration, KCUS, Union Bank, BH Gas, and the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs.

SDP received the Development Bank, Igman Konjic, UKC Tuzla, the Agency for the Sava River Basin, Federal Television, and the FBiH Tax Administration.

Our Party received the Operator for Renewable Energy Sources, PIO/MIO, and Lutrija BiH.

JP Aerodrom Sarajevo finished 2022 with a record profit of 13.8 million marks. And that company, as we said, went to NiP. Goražde's Ginex, with 11 million in profit, went to NiP. Elmedin Konaković's party thus also took over repressive mechanisms – the Federal Administration for Inspection Affairs.

Meanwhile, SDP BiH received the non-profit Development Bank, Igman Konjic, which achieved a profit of 3.4 million KM in 2022. The FBiH Tax Administration, at first glance, is an important institution. However, the Tax Administration's decisions are not final and enforceable, as the real control lies with the FBiH Minister of Finance as the second-instance authority. And the Minister of Finance is Toni Kraljević from HDZ BiH. Regarding FTV, it is questionable whether SDP will succeed in taking it over, as an amendment to the Law on Public Service RTVFBiH is necessary for the appointment of a new management.

In this category, Our Party received the Operator for Renewable Energy Sources, which effectively controls the production of solar and wind energy and provides incentives for this type of energy production. NS also gets the stabilized PIO/MIO Fund. Lutrija BiH, which belongs to Our Party, is one of the most stable companies, finishing 2022 with a profit of 2.3 million KM.

Category B

In this category too, NiP is the absolute winner. Vogošća's Pretis finished 2022 with a profit of 5.8 million KM. The company went to NiP. Also included are FIA, JP Una, and the Agency for Civil Service of FBiH, which controls all civil servant employment in the Federation of BiH. NiP also gets the Appeals Committee, KPZ Sarajevo, and the Securities Registry.

SDP BiH received Sarajevoputevi with 235 thousand marks in profit in 2022, Bugojno's BINAS, which is among the weakest companies in the defense industry (a constant loss-maker until 2022, with a profit of 417 thousand KM in 2022), and three prisons – KPZ Bihać, KPZ Tuzla, and KPZ Zenica. It also includes a part of Sarajevo osiguranje, the Institute for Transfusion Medicine, the Agency for Management of Seized Property, and the Intellectual Property Agency.

Our Party received the Institute for Agriculture, the FBiH Institute of Statistics, the BiH Institutions Audit Office, AKAZ (Agency for Healthcare Quality and Accreditation), and the BiH Ombudsman's Office.

Category C

Narod i Pravda also dominates in this category. They get the Federal News Agency, through which they can control media space, and the Federal Administration for Geodetic and Property-Legal Affairs, which performs administrative and other professional tasks within the jurisdiction of the Federation of BiH related to: surveying, establishing, and restoring the cadastre of real estate. NiP also gets Unis Ilidža, the Foundation for Library Activity, and the Hadžići Repair Facility.

SDP BiH received Energoinvest, ZRAK (which is in bankruptcy), the less known Institute for Development Programming, the Institute for Agropedology, the Pazarić Institute, the Foundation for Musical and Stage Arts, the Environmental Protection Fund, Unis Tools (in bankruptcy), and the Publishing Foundation.

Our Party received BNT Novi Travnik, the Foundation for Cinematography, Sarajevo Film Center, and the Hydro-Meteorological Institute.

Category D

In Category D, the least attractive positions, NiP took nothing. Our Party took Feroelektro, while SDP agreed to represent state capital in Arcelor Mittal, Energopetrol, and Agrokomerc. The largest party also received the Agency for Privatization, the Agency for Privatization Audit, and the Student Loan Fund.

How well NiP fared in the negotiations on the distribution of positions in public companies and institutions is best illustrated by the example from Sarajevo Canton – the healthcare sector.

KCUS – NiP. General Hospital – NiP. KS Health Insurance Fund – NiP. KS Institute of Public Health – NiP. Sarajevo Psychiatric Hospital – NiP. KS Institute of Occupational Medicine – NiP. Institute for Addiction Diseases – NiP.
