(Patria) - The placement of Marinko Čavara (HDZ BiH) and Alen Šeranić (SNSD) on the United States' blacklist clearly shows that Bosnia and Herzegovina's key international partners have clearly recognized the destructive actors and obstructors of the state, according to a reaction from People and Justice (NIP).
By expanding the list of sanctioned individuals to include Marinko Čavara (HDZ BiH) and Alen Šeranić (SNSD), the United States clearly demonstrates that it recognizes not only key individuals but also key policies that are anti-state and anti-Dayton.
"By precisely explaining why Čavara and Šeranić were sanctioned, top officials of the US administration clearly recognize and condemn the anti-Dayton and secessionist policies of SNSD. This shows that the international community is not focused on a few individuals but is clearly sanctioning the entire policy of conflict, secessionism, and unconstitutional actions. Furthermore, by sanctioning effectively the second-highest official of HDZ BiH, this clearly identifies the policy of HDZ BiH as anti-state. Through the blockade of key institutions of the Federation of BiH, as well as the attempt to block the holding of elections, HDZ BiH has primarily defined its policy as destructive," the statement from People and Justice reads.
People and Justice welcomes such precisely targeted sanctions, considering the explanations for their imposition to be particularly significant.
"Through the explanations for the sanctions, a strong message has been sent to all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina about the policies that have been hindering the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina for years and seeking to undermine the achieved level of integration of the state and state institutions. It is extremely important that the sanctions were also explained by Secretary of State Antony Blinken himself, thus showing that the very top of President Biden's administration stands behind these sanctions," added People and Justice.
The unconstitutional actions of SNSD, the institutional blockades by HDZ BiH, and mass corruption orchestrated by SDA are seen by the US administration itself as key disruptive factors for the progress of our country, according to People and Justice.
"This does not equate the SDA-HDZ-SNSD coalition members, but rather clearly points out which policies of these parties are a fundamental obstacle to the progress of our country. All three pillars on which this coalition stands, from secessionism through blockades to corruption, must be defeated for the sake of our homeland's future," the statement concludes.
