NiP: NATO and the agreement with the Islamic Community are prerequisites for the formation of the BiH Council of Ministers

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Presidency of the People and Justice Party (NiP) believes that respecting previously undertaken obligations regarding Bosnia and Herzegovina's path to NATO and signing the state agreement with the Islamic Community of BiH must be prerequisites for the formation of the BiH Council of Ministers, which Milorad Dodik and SNSD are insisting on.

The NiP Presidency reminds that SNSD cadre Nebojša Radmanović, as the then Chairman of the Presidency of BiH, clearly expressed our country's commitment to NATO membership back in 2009 and personally submitted the request for the activation of the Membership Action Plan (MAP).

- Respecting previously undertaken obligations on the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina must be the foundation and prerequisite for any negotiations on forming a new government at the BiH level. People and Justice express full support to all pro-Bosnian forces at the state level to persevere in defending the interests and protecting the state. We welcome the positions of BiH Presidency members Željko Komšić and Šefik Džaferović on the need to define priorities that are vital for our country before forming the government - is the position of the NiP Presidency.

People and Justice add that they disagree with certain parties on many issues and that the party's stance is that they will not form a coalition with such parties. At the same time, People and Justice will always, regardless of political differences, stand shoulder to shoulder with those forces that stand in defense of our only homeland, its borders, symbols, and, ultimately, its survival.

- We call on pro-Bosnian forces to remain united around key state interests, and we call on the members of the BiH Presidency to resolve the issue of the state agreement with the Islamic Community of BiH before appointing a candidate for the formation of the Council of Ministers of BiH.

We remind that the Islamic Community is the only traditional religious community in BiH that does not have such an agreement, and its adoption has been blocked for purely political reasons. There are no obstacles to removing the injustice and unequal position in which Bosnian-Herzegovinian Muslims have been placed, and this must be a prerequisite for any talks about forming the government - it is added.
