Nikšić responds to Kebo: It is sad how individuals want to protect criminals and robbery!

This is a continuation of the obstructions we have been facing for two years regarding the adoption of a set of anti-corruption laws, stated for the Bosnian news agency Patria (NAP) the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nermin Nikšić, commenting on the procedure of Mirsad Kebo, Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who challenged the package of anti-corruption laws before the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

- It is sad to what extent individuals are willing to go when it comes to protecting criminals and what has been acquired through robbery - says Nikšić.

According to his words, the anti-corruption laws of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are the result of long-term consultations between representatives of the Government, the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council (VSTV) and a number of representatives of judicial institutions, as well as international experts. Likewise, the constitutional basis of these laws has been confirmed, both by the Office of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina for Legislation and Compliance with EU Regulations, and by the competent commissions of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

- Mr. Kebo, in more than two decades that he has held various responsible functions, has had more than enough time to do something concrete in the fight against systemic corruption. Instead, he decided to be a brake on efforts to create an effective system for fighting corruption and organized crime. However, as Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, he has the authority to request a review of constitutionality. I am absolutely convinced of the legal and substantive unfoundedness of his request, and I have nothing against the Constitutional Court of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina also giving its opinion on this matter - adds Nikšić.

Claiming that you want good and effective laws, says the Prime Minister of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, while at the same time preventing their adoption with your request, "speaks enough about someone's intentions".
