Nikšić: Construction of the Mliništa - Banja Luka section will reduce interest in building Corridor Vc

The director of the company "Autoputevi Republike Srpske" Dušan Topić and the vice-president of the Chinese company "Power China - Sinohydro" for Eurasia Yang Fan signed a commercial agreement in Riga for the construction of the highway from Banja Luka to Mliništa.

The agreement should speed up the procedure for approving a loan from the Chinese Exim Bank, which would finance the construction of the first section of the mentioned highway, from Glamočani to the AVNOJ Road, 62 kilometers long, it was announced from "Autoputevi Republike Srpske".

The president of SDP BiH Nermin Nikšić said at a press conference in Sarajevo that after this agreement, interest in the construction of Corridor Vc will decrease. Nikšić believes that the current authorities are using every opportunity to undermine state projects in order to fulfill party interests.

- A new debt of Bosnia and Herzegovina of around 600 million euros has been signed to build the Banja Luka – Mliništa highway section. We would support such a project without problems, but only if Corridor Vc, which is an international project, were completed. Unfortunately, with the construction of the Mliništa to Banja Luka section, no one will have any interest in building Corridor Vc anymore. The question is who this concession was made for – said Nikšić.

The president of SDP BiH Nermin Nikšić said that the party expresses concern because all infrastructure projects important for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina have been halted in the country, including the construction of roads and power plants. This primarily applies to the construction of Corridor Vc and Block 7 of the Thermal Power Plant in Tuzla.

- Apart from talk about spectacular project preparations, there are no concrete steps – said Nikšić. He said that before the current coalition came to power, the Federation resembled a real construction site, where domestic companies were employed and which filled the budget of the FBiH.

- No one even knows anymore in which phase all the important, historical projects in the Federation are. I fear that this is no longer just about the incompetence of the current government, but about deliberate moves – added Nikšić, writes NAP.
