No one arrested yet for setting fire on Pelješac

Contrary to some media reports, no one has been arrested yet for causing the fire on Pelješac, Marija Gjenero, spokesperson for the Dubrovnik-Neretva Police Department, told Index, reports the Patria News Agency.

Information spread through Dubrovnik media that the police arrested a man from Kuna Pelješka last night, the father of two children, who allegedly set fire to Tabor hill, from where the fire spread to the rest of Pelješac. It was suspected that he was a pyromaniac previously known to the police for similar offenses.

-The police are still conducting investigations, the investigation is ongoing, and for now, we have no suspects, Gjenero stated.

Yesterday, the Dubrovnik police arrested a 24-year-old woman suspected of causing as many as six fires on Korčula, including one in which 400 square meters of grass and low vegetation burned.
