NOT PALESTINIAN Identity of migrant who drew a gun on a policewoman established

(Patria) - The Service for Foreigners' Affairs, by implementing operational measures and actions within its jurisdiction, today established the true identity of the migrant who was found to possess a firearm and who is reasonably suspected of committing the criminal offense of "assault on an official person while performing official duties" in the area of Banja Luka.

Namely, after being deprived of liberty, the person in question stated to the police officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska in his statement that he was a citizen of Palestine with initials H.H.
Through operational work and checks, the Service for Foreigners' Affairs determined that the person is G.A., a citizen of Algeria, for whom relevant evidence has been collected and biometric data, which the Service collects from migrants during the registration process, has been compared.

In the further procedure, the Service for Foreigners' Affairs will seek official confirmation of the person's identity through the Algerian Embassy, all with the aim of removing him from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In the period from 2018 to date, the Service for Foreigners' Affairs has registered a total of 55,721 migrants. During the registration process, the Service for Foreigners' Affairs collects biometric data and gathers other relevant evidence in an effort to establish the identity of migrants, and exchanges the aforementioned data with partner security agencies in order to protect the security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

With today's action, the Service has made a significant contribution to shedding light on the criminal offense that is reasonably suspected of having been committed by the migrant G.A., and in the future, it will continuously undertake all necessary operational activities towards all foreign nationals who may pose a threat to the security system of Bosnia and Herzegovina in any way.
