It's not Ramo Isak who is guilty, but Elmedin Konaković

The fact that you are shaking your head is your stance, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Elmedin Konaković, addressed the Patria journalist who was turning her head left and right in disbelief while listening to a sort of tribute by the head of NIP to Ramo Isak, then candidate for Minister of Internal Affairs of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In a question directed at Konaković, another journalist listed all the (mis)deeds of Ramo Isak, that he committed violence, that he was convicted and expelled from the police.

It was the morning of April 28, when it was clear that thanks to Schmidt's intervention, the imposed FBiH Government, which would be led by Nermin Nikšić, would have a sufficient majority.

Overnight, Ramo Isak replaced the earlier candidate of NES, Anel Kljaku, who at the last moment, together with the Party for Bosnia and Herzegovina, refused to participate in this Government.

Thus, Ramo, thanks to one (but valuable) hand of his son Arnel Isak, became the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Today, more than ever, Konaković's words resonate, who then confidently claimed that he stands behind every cadre proposed by People and Justice, including Ramo Isak.

“Ramo Isak can handle part of the job despite all the flaws he is criticized for, I agree that they are not harmless and should not be ignored. We take responsibility for the cadres, if tomorrow Ramo Isak is guilty or does a bad job, we are responsible. I take responsibility for the appointment of Ramo Isak and give space to see if the man can do this job. Every stain, every tender, every scandal he makes, I will stand before you and say then what I have,” said Konaković.

Months passed, and Ramo provoked reactions with his moves. The spectrum of these reactions ranges from mockery to full support from the head of NIP and “citizens who wait in line to take a photo with the minister for Instagram.”

It is not disputed that Isak is the most visible minister in the FBiH Government. He is an active user of social networks and tirelessly posts all his activities and travels. Thanks to the helicopter, which is his regular means of transport, he gets from one end of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the other, as well as the RS. For example, at noon he cuts a cake with Nikšić celebrating the anniversary of the imposed government, and in the afternoon he visits grandmother Fata in Konjević Polje. But what do the citizens of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina get from this?

Ramo dealt with internet warriors, threatened them with arrests within a few hours, announced Dodik's end, and least of all dealt with his job. Isak retained the same associates that former minister Aljoša Čampara had. He also stated that in a few months he did more work than they did in 20 years before him. And a third of that is Čampara's term.

And while we were processing the fact that Ramo Isak is the first man of the security system of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, his second son was appointed director of the Penitentiary in Zenica. Ramo recused himself during the vote in the FBiH Government, but no one else even thought to challenge this appointment.

About the fact that Ramo Isak in media appearances cannot specify the name of the faculty where he received his doctorate, but talks about the name of the university, or about how he simultaneously reads a document in the show "Investigation of the Week" and follows instructions from a mobile phone, no words need to be wasted. Because if a picture says more than a thousand words, then a video says much more.

Much was tolerated from Isak, but the statements regarding the operational action 'Black tie 2' in which the director of FUP Vahidin Munjić, the commander of the Special Police Unit Mustafa Selmanović and three other police officers (Adin Ćatić, Emir Druškić and Senad Kadić) were arrested, for whom at midnight on Monday, April 22, in front of the Parliament of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina he claimed that no one was arrested, and finally the ceremonial welcome of the suspects in front of the FUP building because they were not remanded in custody, was the straw that broke the camel's back.

However, it should not be forgotten that Konaković, on the same day while the arrest and search operation was ongoing, spoke about "packaging" and degraded the work of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the acting prosecutor. Instead of, as a legalist, supporting the action and calling for the most efficient investigation, Konaković found himself personally affected in this story and positioned himself as the supreme judge.

After the ceremonial welcome in front of the FUP building, but also the press conference that Konaković held in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs speaking exclusively about this case, on Friday a reaction from the US Embassy followed, which is the main protagonist of this government.

Regardless of the fact that Konaković was not named, they too did not forget the message of the head of NIP that he stands behind Ramo Isak, and Konaković should also analyze the message of the US administration several times, whose two agencies, the FBI and DEA, provided certain data to BiH institutions and gave support in this operational action.

“It is contrary to the commitment to the rule of law for the FBiH Ministry of Internal Affairs to allow police officers who are under investigation for abuse of position to return to work.

Public officials under investigation for abuse of position should be suspended until the investigation is completed," they said from the US Embassy in BiH.
