Nihad Arapčić from Lukavac developed a goose business, making medicinal ointment from their fat

Nihad Arapčić is waiting for the first minus temperatures and ice on the small lake in the yard of his house, in the village of Bokavići near Lukavac, to start slaughtering geese, from whose fat he produces medicinal goose fat for the sick all over the world, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

If the weather conditions were like in previous years, before the climate changed drastically, Arapčić would have finished packing the fat into small boxes by New Year's. This way, he never knows when the lake will freeze.

- When it freezes, I let the geese eat that ice. Their bodies, naturally, due to the cold ice around their stomachs, start to create larger fat deposits than usual, in order to maintain temperature. About ten days after that, I start slaughtering the geese and collecting their fat, of which there is only a few hundred grams per goose.

Science has proven that goose fat contains large amounts of omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for maintaining human health. It is especially beneficial for all respiratory tract diseases, and particularly for bronchitis, asthma, pneumonia...

- A large number of doctors recommend goose fat to patients as a medicine, who then come to me – says Nihad.

According to his claims, the range of diseases that goose fat treats is even wider. He says that a large number of people have confirmed to him that goose fat helped them to cope more easily with serious illnesses, even cancers... Goose fat is taken in small quantities and is also applied externally.

After this winter's goose slaughter, Nihad will have a young flock left, which he will raise until next winter. He says that geese are very noble animals, attached to their flock. They are not demanding to raise. All they need is a completely natural environment and high hygienic conditions, writes Patria.
