Nezim ef. Halilović: The international community will betray Palestine as they betrayed BiH

Nezim ef. Halilović Muderris believes that the international community will betray Gaza as, he says, they betrayed Bosnia and Herzegovina during the Serbian aggression, writes the BiH news agency Patria (NAP).

- What is happening in Palestine is what happened in Srebrenica, Žepa, Goražde... during the Serbian aggression on BiH. A resolution was passed declaring these places as safe zones, and the international community, according to that resolution, disarmed the Bosniaks and took over the protection of these zones. Unfortunately, they did not fulfill their task. They were accomplices in the crime – ef. Halilović tells Patria. He is sure that the people of Žepa, Goražde, and Srebrenica, if they had had even the little weaponry they had in 1993 when the resolution was passed, would have defended their territory.

Since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip on July 8 this year, a large number of Palestinians have been killed. As reported by the New York Times, on July 29, 2014, more than 1,200 lives were lost in Gaza, including a large number of children, and more than 170,000 people have been left homeless so far.

The Israeli government is carrying out the aggression on Gaza under the pretext that it wants to destroy underground tunnels, through which, allegedly, Hamas members enter Israel and pose a threat to Israelis. However, Israel bombs hospitals, schools, mosques, and other civilian facilities every day.

Ef. Halilović believes that the only salvation for the Palestinian people is to organize and fight for freedom.

- They cannot expect anything special from the international community. Unfortunately, the Islamic world is also not appearing as a relevant factor in the case of Palestine, except for Turkey, which is the sharpest in its criticism of Israel and its aggression on Palestine – warns ef. Halilović.

- No nation that decided to fight for freedom could be defeated. That is the only salvation for the Palestinians – says Halilović, writes Patria.
