SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The Independent Board for the Election and Review of the Police Commissioner of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly will consider the work of Police Commissioner Mevludin Halilović for 2018 at its session on Tuesday, it has been confirmed for the Patria agency.
Given that one of the members of the Independent Board, Admir Katica, resigned from his position as a member of the Board when he was appointed Minister of Internal Affairs, six members will attend the session.
The assessment of work can be satisfactory or unsatisfactory, and then the assessment is sent to the commissioner, the Minister of Internal Affairs, and the KS Government. For the proposal of work assessment to be adopted, five members must support the decision. If the work assessment is unsatisfactory, in that case, the dismissal of Commissioner Mevludin Halilović will be initiated and a new competition will be announced.
Each member of the Independent Board is obliged to explain their assessment of the police commissioner's work.
Halilović was acting police commissioner from November 2016 after the dismissal of Vahid Ćosić, and was officially appointed after the competition procedure in May 2017. Before being appointed police commissioner, Halilović was the head of the Uniformed Police Sector in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of KS.
