Independent Committee did not dismiss DKPT Director: Vilić not responsible for attack on Vučić

At today's session of the Independent Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the dismissal of Mirsad Vilić, director of the Directorate for Coordination of Police Bodies, was considered at the request of Dragan Mektić, Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, but there were not enough votes for his dismissal, reports a reporter from the Patria news agency.  

Three members of the Independent Committee voted for the dismissal, three were against, and two abstained. As stated by Enes Obralija, deputy chairman of the Independent Committee, seven votes were needed for the dismissal. Obralija said that the Directorate submitted a report on the implementation of the internal procedure regarding the attack on Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić in Potočari on July 11, 2015.

- Based on no argument is it possible to conclude that there is responsibility of Mirsad Vilić for the incident that occurred. That event cannot be justified, and one of the conclusions is that the IC will address the possible disciplinary responsibility of Director Vilić at one of the first upcoming sessions - said Obralija.

Obralija also commented on the initiative for the dismissal of the IC, which was launched by an ad hoc commission.

- That issue will be on the agenda of the session of the PD PS BiH on April 5, based on the commission's proposal - said Obralija.
