Independent Mayors Want a Better BiH: We Need Stability, Investments, Security

Guests of the show Pošteno, hosted by Duška Jurišić on Federal Television, were the mayor of Visoko Amra Babić, analyst and economic expert Svetlana Cenić, mayor of Stari Grad municipality Ibrahim Hadžibajrić, and the mayor of Zenica Fuad Kasumović. They spoke about a joint movement around which seven mayors and city mayors who won their mandates as independent candidates and who received a large number of votes have gathered. They were joined by the mayor of Bihać Šuhret Fazlić and the mayor of Lukavac Edin Delić, writes the Patria agency.

Cenić said that she supports this idea and left open the possibility that she herself will join these people.

Kasumović said that the past elections showed that where there was a quality alternative, independent candidates won. The guests of the show rejected the idea of forming a new party.

- We have a great responsibility to initiate changes, we want stabilization of political circumstances.

Mayor Babić emphasized that a new idea is needed and that people who know how to lead should lead BiH, and that it is finally time for experts to take office.

Cenić pointed out that 90% of citizens in BiH are dissatisfied, regardless of which part of BiH it is.

- Independent candidates were chosen by the dissatisfied, those who want change. This idea can succeed at all levels – believes Cenić, adding that they should be helped in every possible way and that they set a good example for others that different success is possible.

When asked by host Jurišić if this idea could cross the entity line, Hadžibajrić said that he believes it can and that there are a large number of people who would join them.

- People's priority is the economy. I was in the RS, the situation is not cheerful at all, people are scared. Someone must be there to initiate things and to create a platform on which BiH will function.

Babić believes that they can transfer the idea to the RS with their good example.

- The basic need is the state of BiH. We need individuals, for success and progress you must have brave people. You must confront political machines. We need to focus on giving opportunities to other dissatisfied people – said Babić.

What was emphasized is that no one wants to impose themselves as the leader of this movement, and they invite all pro-Bosnian oriented people to join them.
