(Patria) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday rejected Hamas's conditions for ending the war and releasing hostages, which would include Israel's complete withdrawal and Hamas remaining in power in Gaza.
- In exchange for the release of our hostages, Hamas demands an end to the war, the withdrawal of our forces from Gaza, the release of all murderers and rapists. And for Hamas to remain intact.
I reject in full the surrender conditions of the Hamas monsters - Netanyahu said, Hina reports.
An agreement mediated by the US, Qatar, and Egypt in November released more than 100 of approximately 240 hostages held in Gaza during the October 7 attack by Hamas militants, in exchange for the release of 240 Palestinians from Israeli prisons.
Since the deal ended, Netanyahu has faced increasing pressure to rescue the remaining 136 hostages in captivity.
Netanyahu has also taken a tougher stance on Palestinian statehood than before.
- I will not compromise on full Israeli control of the entire territory west of the Jordan River - he added.
