Netanyahu ordered immediate and strong strikes on Gaza

(Patria) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered the army to carry out intense strikes on the Gaza Strip after accusing Hamas of violating the truce reached with the mediation of the United States.

"After security consultations, Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered the army to immediately carry out strong strikes in the Gaza Strip," his office announced.

This reaction followed Israel's accusations that Hamas "staged" the return of the bodies of killed Israeli hostages. It also accused it of "re-burying remains," as both sides intensify accusations of truce violations in Gaza.

"Hamas lies. They know where the remaining hostages are. Staged excavations are not only abusive - these violations endanger the ceasefire.

Drone footage shows Hamas moving and re-burying remains - and then staging a false discovery for the Red Cross to witness," the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced earlier today.

Netanyahu had previously said that the human remains Hamas handed over overnight belonged to a captive whose body had already been found by Israeli forces.

He convened his defense chiefs to decide on "Israel's next steps" in response, which appears to include a renewed offensive on the war-torn Gaza.

"The fact that Hamas continues to play games and does not immediately hand over all the bodies of our fallen is, in itself, proof that the terrorist organization still exists.

We must now deprive Hamas of its very existence and destroy it completely, once and for all, in line with the central goal of the 'War of Revival'. Prime Minister, enough hesitation. Give the order," said Israeli Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.

A ceasefire agreement in Gaza has been in effect since October 10, according to US President Donald Trump's 20-point plan.
