(Patria) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu yesterday promised Israelis that he would increase pressure on Hamas in the coming days, without mentioning an attack on the overcrowded city of Rafah in the southern Gaza Strip, which he has repeatedly said he is determined to launch.
- We will deal them new heavy blows - and this will happen soon. In the coming days, we will increase military and political pressure on Hamas, because that is the only way to free our hostages and achieve our victory - said the Israeli Prime Minister on the eve of the Jewish holiday of Passover.
Netanyahu says he is determined to launch an attack on the city of Rafah, where, according to him, four battalions of the Palestinian movement Hamas are concentrated.
But non-governmental organizations and an increasing number of foreign representatives oppose this operation, fearing it will cause numerous civilian casualties.
The Israeli army claims that some of the hostages abducted by Hamas militants during the bloody attack on Israeli territory on October 7 are being held in Rafah.
The army spokesperson stated on television on Sunday evening that the Chief of Staff has approved the next phases of the war, without additional details.
