(Patria) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says yesterday's Hezbollah attempt to kill him and his wife was a grave mistake, after his spokesperson said a drone was launched from Lebanon towards his coastal residence.
None of the groups attacking Israel in the past year have claimed responsibility for the attack.
Netanyahu's office announced that neither he nor his wife were in the coastal resort located between Tel Aviv and Haifa at the time of the attack.
The attempt by Iran’s proxy Hezbollah to assassinate me and my wife today was a grave mistake.
This will not deter me or the State of Israel from continuing our just war against our enemies in order to secure our future.
I say to Iran and its proxies in its axis of evil:…— Benjamin Netanyahu - בנימין נתניהו (@netanyahu) October 19, 2024
No one was injured in the incident, the army announced. Two unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted.
"Hezbollah, an ally of Iran, which attempted to kill me and my wife, made a big mistake. I say to the Iranians and their partners in the 'axis of evil' - anyone who tries to harm Israeli citizens will pay a high price," Netanyahu threatened.
