Eight years ago, on the way from school to home, on that fateful February 5th at the tram stop near the Technical School, Denis Mrnjavac was attacked out of spite by three youths, one of whom was a minor, writes the Patria news agency.
"The accused Ademir Lelović said to Denis in a tram full of passengers: 'What are you looking at?' Denis replied: 'Is it forbidden to look?' After that, Lelović told him: 'What are you playing at? Get out of the tram so we can fight.' When Mrnjavac said he would not fight because he did not know them, Nermin Sikirić said: 'It's over now' and showed a knife to Lelović and Berin Talić.
Lelović then hit Mrnjavac in the head with a metal knuckle duster, and Berin Talić punched him in the face. After that, Lelović said to Nermin Sikirić: "Now him" and then Sikirić approached Mrnjavac and stabbed him in the stomach. Lelović and Talić then forcibly opened the tram doors and fled together with Sikirić.
-Are those who were on the tram on that February 5, 2008, in which 17-year-old Denis Mrnjavac was killed, at all ashamed today because they watched all this and did not react?, wrote the well-known Bosnian actor Nermin Tulić on his Facebook profile.
This is exactly what one of Denis's friends spoke about. None of the hundred or so passengers who were on the tram at the time reacted, nor did they later come forward to testify about the murder of an innocent boy. What kind of people are we?
