Nermin Nikšić offers condolences over terrorist attack in Ankara

The President of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Nermin Nikšić, has sent a letter of condolence to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the terrorist attack in Ankara, reports the Patria News Agency.

- On behalf of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina and myself, I express to you and the families of the victims deep respect and sympathy on the occasion of the tragic terrorist attack in the capital of the Republic of Turkey.

We in Bosnia and Herzegovina clearly understand who is the terrorist and who is the victim in these events, as we have experienced it very well ourselves. Bosnians and Herzegovinians understand exceptionally well what the friendly people of Turkey are currently going through, having been victims of numerous terrorist attacks recently, as they themselves have been victims of ideologies of violence against which they are still fighting today.

This confirms that terrorism represents a continuous threat to the values of the civilized and modern world.

I take this opportunity to express my full support in your efforts to confront those insane ideologies and beliefs behind which lie hatred, violence, and terror as soon as possible.

I am convinced that the Turkish people and state will emerge victorious in the fight against individuals and groups who do not shy away from killing innocent people.

Our two nations share the values of the modern and civilized world, in which there is no place for blatant violence and cruel terrorism. Killing innocent people is not part of our moral or civic identity, and we will never agree to resolve evident problems in the world order through violence instead of dialogue and negotiations.

I assure you that the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina clearly and unreservedly condemn this and similar terrorist acts, and the friendly country of Turkey has the full support of BiH and its citizens - Nikšić stated in the letter of condolence.
