Nermin Nikšić: Let today's verdict not be a basis for sowing seeds of hatred and division

As I said during Ratko Mladić's verdict, the difference between the Social Democratic Party of BiH and many other parties is that we are legalists who respect the court's decision, and court decisions are not to be discussed, because no discussion will change the verdict, believes Nermin Nikšić, president of SDP BiH, reports Patria agency.

- There is no reconciliation without truth and justice. Nothing can compensate for the loss of someone who has lost a family member. It is time for the victims to find their peace, and for the families of the victims to find at least partial satisfaction.

Therefore, I believe that after today's verdict, we should turn to the future, instead of using it as a basis for sowing new seeds of hatred and division. We owe our children a future in which they will have a happy and successful life.

A life in which no one will ever again experience what the leaders of the Herceg-Bosna para-state have been finally convicted of today. If we do that, today's verdict will gain its full meaning, and I call on all political forces to dedicate themselves to achieving that goal - it is stated in the statement of the SDP BiH president.
