Unsolved Murder of Dženan Memić: Will the Report on the Work of the Sarajevo Prosecutor's Office Be Adopted?

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The last session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly was held on May 7, and the Report on the Work of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office for 2017 was removed from the agenda. The Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, Dalida Burzić, who was supposed to answer questions from deputies, did not appear at the session. In a letter she sent to the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, she stated that she refused to come to the session due to the address of Muriz Memić, the father of the murdered young man Dženan Memić, who spoke about the unresolved case.

Although some deputies began a discussion on the work of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, and questions were posed without answers, it was decided to withdraw this item from the agenda, with the expectation that Prosecutor Burzić would be present at the next session.

However, almost a month has passed without a session of the Sarajevo Canton Assembly being scheduled. Dževad Rađo, head of the SBB club in the Sarajevo Canton Assembly, told Patria that the Collegium will be held on June 6, and the session should be held on June 25.

We remind you that during his address to the deputies on May 7, Memić said that he and his family have been suffering agony for more than two years, and that Prosecutor Burzić personally informed him on two occasions that Dženan was killed. He recalled that nine prosecutors worked on this case, which has never been recorded in a traffic accident case.

He then clearly demanded that the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office bring his son's murderer to prison.
