INJUSTICE AND EQUATING VICTIM AND AGGRESSOR: Former member of the Army of RBiH in Goražde commits suicide

(Patria) - A police patrol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of BPK found the lifeless body of Muriz Hadžiahmetović (54) from Goražde on January 1st, who committed suicide. The family had previously reported him missing to the police.

He was a former member of the Army of RBiH and a recipient of the highest wartime recognition, the "Golden Lily". Hadžiahmetović is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Hadžiahmetović, along with five other individuals, was arrested in an SIPA operation on December 13th on suspicion of war crimes in Jošanica.

Given that media outlets from the RS entity announced a swift indictment, Hadžiahmetović unfortunately decided to take his own life rather than witness all sides in the war being equated 30 years after the aggression.

In this month alone, indictments for war crimes have been "raining down" from the BiH Prosecutor's Office, with more announced.

While the heroes of Goražde are being tormented by indictments for defending their very lives against the aggressor, no one has been held accountable for the attack on Goražde and the siege of that city.

The same applies to Sarajevo. Although it was under siege for 1425 days, without electricity, water, or food, terrorized, and with hundreds of citizens killed by snipers on the streets of Sarajevo, and hundreds of children killed by shells fired from aggressor positions while playing or waiting in line for bread and water, the Prosecutor's Office indicted the highest political, police, and military leadership for alleged crimes in Dobrovoljačka Street, even though the main post office building and trams in Skenderija were set on fire in Sarajevo the day before, and the President of the Presidency of RBiH, Alija Izetbegović, was prevented from entering Sarajevo and was instead taken to Lukavica. The plan was to exchange him for JNA soldiers who were supposed to leave Sarajevo. However, the BiH Prosecutor's Office completely disregarded the events of May 2nd and claimed that Izetbegović was not a prisoner.
