No BiH Council of Ministers session scheduled, Draft budget on hold

(Patria) - There is still no scheduled session of the BiH Council of Ministers where the Draft Budget of BiH Institutions for 2022 should be adopted, which was sent for procedure on Friday, May 27th.

HDZ BiH called on the BiH Council of Ministers on Monday to urgently adopt the Draft Budget.

"The Croatian Democratic Union of BiH calls on the Council of Ministers to urgently adopt it in order to create prerequisites for the accelerated adoption of the budget. As in the previous period, we continue to be leaders of the policy of the rule of law and a legal state in all processes that are important for Bosnia and Herzegovina," stated HDZ.

What is crucial is to secure funds for the Central Election Commission of BiH for the implementation of the elections in October. However, the CEC confirmed that the Draft Budget reduced the amount allocated for the CEC, which will cause problems.

Due to lack of funds, the CEC has already canceled certain public procurements, and they appealed for funds to be provided by June 2nd. Given that today is June 1st, and there is no scheduled session of the BiH Council of Ministers, nor a special Decision on securing 12.5 million KM for the CEC due to the blockade by HDZ BiH, it is clear that the CEC will face serious problems, thus jeopardizing the election process itself.
