According to the standard of most European countries, the salary of senior public officials can be three times higher than the average salary. Such a rule also applied to public companies in former Yugoslavia.
However, the situation today is much different. Someone observing the salaries and incomes of state officials in Bosnia and Herzegovina from the outside might conclude that our economy is more developed than Germany's or Sweden's, or that these incomes are unrealistically high compared to the standard of BiH citizens employed in the real sector, whose monthly salary does not exceed 500 KM, writes the Patria agency.
According to data from the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH and lists of the highest-paid state officials, it is evident that the monthly income of a state representative is equal to nine average monthly salaries in BiH, or even 20 average pensions.
The fifty highest-paid officials in BiH in the first five months of 2017 collected as much as 1,487,055.71 KM from the state budget for salaries and work in various commissions.
Comparing the published salaries, the question arises about what kind of endangerment certain political parties are talking about. Given that these are public officials, i.e., parliamentarians elected by the people in elections, then we can and should rightfully know what their incomes are.
The highest incomes for the five-month period in the State Parliament were received by Bariša Čolak (HZD BiH) with 32,245.47 KM, followed by Zdenka Džambas (HDZ BIH) with 32,040.85 KM, Predrag Kožul (HDZ BiH) with 31,642.82 KM, Mirsad Đonlagić (SBB) with 31,425.60 KM, Borjana Krišto (HDZ BiH) with 31,205.79 KM, and Ognjen Tadić (SDS) with 30,919.98 KM.
Slightly less were collected by HDZ 1990 MP Diana Zelenika with 30,404.15 KM, followed by Lazar Prodanović (SNSD) with 29,525.22 KM, Nebojša Radmanović (SNSD) with 29,427.89 KM, Sredoje Nović (SNSD) with 29,367.24 KM, Milica Marković (SNSD) with 29,096.35 KM, Sadik Ahmetović (Independent Bloc) with 29,023.13 KM, Dušanka Majkić (SNSD) with 28,878.89 KM, Denis Bećirović (SDP BIH) with 28,460.62 KM, Mirsad Mešić (SDP BiH) with 28,355.89 KM, Sifet Podžić (DF) with 28,314.81 KM, Hanka Vajzović (DF) with 28,162.40 KM, Mensura Beganović (DF) with 28,130.48 KM, and Zaim Backović (BPS) with 28,034.15 KM.
And instead of dealing with issues important to citizens' lives, parliamentarians from HDZ BiH and SNSD are using parliamentary benches for political turmoil and counting of blood cells, undermining the constitutional order of BiH, questioning its existence, its bloody past, inventing majorities and endangerment...
According to these figures, in BiH, only citizens are endangered, to whom 22 years after the aggression, weapons, nationalisms, fascisms, and denial of genocide are still being rattled.
As everything in BiH is divided into three components or BHS, we will also view these incomes in that way:
