(Patria) - The Ministry of Interior of Tuzla Canton and the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton held a joint press conference about the events of August 11 in Gradačac, when Nermin Sulejmanović killed his wife Nizama Hećimović, killed two other people and wounded two people.
Dalibor Bingas, the acting prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office of Tuzla Canton in the murder case, said today that the investigation has not established that anyone from the police or other institutions cooperated with the killer and gave him any information about his common-law wife Nizama Hećimović regarding the place where she was hiding shortly before the murder.
Asked whether the numerous viewers who watched the live broadcast of the brutal crime committed a criminal offense, the prosecutor said that it cannot be classified as a criminal offense because there was no incitement, as Sulejmanović had already made the decision to commit the murder.
The conclusion that Sulejmanović had no informants regarding the discovery of Nizama Helimović's hiding place was reached after examining about 40 witnesses.
The place where she was hiding was Sulejmanović's first choice of where to look for her; it was an address known to him, and he had already come and looked for her there on several occasions.
"Nothing indicates that anyone cooperated, especially police officers, with the perpetrator Nermin Sulejmanović. Another conclusion is that there was no need to cooperate with him on this matter or provide any information. He asked the aunt whether she had arrived even before Nizama came to her house. He also inquired with a taxi driver whether his taxi service had taken Nizama to the aunt's house. He spoke with the aunt and her husband every day. He came to that address at the aunt's more than twice to pick up or deliver her belongings. He circled and walked around the house. The aunt complained to his friend, who told him to stop. So, all the time he suspected she was there. At the moment when the 'brakes gave way,' and everything indicates that this is connected to receiving the court decision rejecting his request for a restraining order against Nizama, at that moment his only choice was that house of the Pamuković family. He attacks that house, threatens the aunt Zijada Pamuković that he will kill her if she does not tell him where Nizama is, and at that moment a child was heard crying. Then he carried out the attack on the house, which preceded the taking away of Nizama and the murder," Bingas explained.
Regarding police officer Dženana Selimović from Gradačac, who was previously linked to Sulejmanović in the media, she is still under suspension due to a serious breach of official duty, but this is not related to the murder case of Nizama Hećimović.
Dževad Korman, director of the Police Administration of the Ministry of Interior, said that the investigation against police officers is in its final stages.
"The priority was the criminal investigation, which is why the disciplinary proceedings have not yet been completed. An investigation into disciplinary responsibility has been initiated against several police officers," Korman said.
