Several thousand Sarajevans demand the truth about the murder of Dženan Memić: The FMUP must be included in the investigation!

13:10 Prime Minister Elmedin Konaković came out in front of the building of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton to address the citizens. The family's demands addressed to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office were also read to him. Konaković has been with the family of Dženan Memić from the very beginning.

12:55 The column moved along Mis Irbina Street towards the building of the Government of the Sarajevo Canton, where they will read their demands.

12:50 A statement from Dženan's father and mother was also read to those gathered: "Our struggle continues. I was not able to help him that night when the enemies attacked him. It is unacceptable that the investigation has been going in the wrong direction for 100 days. We expect that the Sarajevo Canton Assembly will not turn its back on us. We support the initiative of Segmedina Srna-Bajramović to form an investigative commission. Thank you to all the citizens who are with us."

12:45 A friend of the Memić family read the demands of the murdered young man's family addressed to the Chief Prosecutor of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, Dalida Burzić, in front of the Prosecutor's Office building. Then the father, Muriz Memić, entered the building to submit them officially.

The demands include, among other things, a statement on the responsibility of prosecutor Meris Ćato's actions, insight into the records and photo documentation. We demand a statement from Chief Prosecutor Dalida Burzić on the specific measures and actions you have taken and their dynamics, whether Alisa Mutap gave a statement as a witness or a suspect. It is hard to believe that you had no questions for us, while you socialize with the Mutap family in Aleja.

12:20 As the column, which was joined by a large number of citizens on its way from the SCC building to Radićeva Street, approached the building of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, everyone fell silent. Upon arriving in front of the Prosecutor's Office building, they began, amid whistles, to shout "We want justice!" and "Slackers out!", "Who are you protecting!", "Gang out, resignations!".

12:00 A huge column of citizens headed towards the building of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, where they will stay for an hour. Participants in the protest march chant „We want justice!“. The banners they carry read „You are knowingly leading the investigation in the wrong direction“, „One hundred days of patience is enough“ and „Justice is slow but attainable“.

Several thousand citizens of Sarajevo gathered in front of the SCC for the protests organized today by the family of Dženan Memić (22).

The young man was seriously injured under still unclear circumstances on February 8 in Velika Aleja in Ilidža while walking with his girlfriend Alisa Mutap, and seven days later he died at the UKCS from the injuries sustained, reports a reporter from the Patria news agency.

-We are organizing the protests because of the inaction of the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. We do not know if there has been any progress in the investigation. We demand that the Federal MUP and the Federal Prosecutor's Office be included. They wrote to me that the investigation went in the wrong direction. We were not even informed about the reconstruction of the event. The Mutap family was invited, and it was just an ordinary get-together. We also ask the VSTV to help us, because there is someone above the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. I will not give up. I only received information that the investigation is ongoing, said the father of the murdered young man, Muriz Memić.

Dženan's uncle, Rešad Memić, said that the family was confused by Alisa Mutap's statement.

-Alisa said that a car hit him. We will not give up searching for the truth; we have support from all over the world. The solution lies with the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office. Is it possible that no one can do anything to them? We will sue whoever is responsible for all of this, Dženan's uncle stated.
